Plain-English guides to health, Medicare and money after 60

Bonivitas

About us

Bonivitas publishes plain-English guides to health, Medicare, Social Security and money for adults 60 and older, and for the family members who help them.

Who we are

Bonivitas is an independent online publication. We started the site because the information older adults need most is often scattered across government websites, insurance brochures and fine print. Our job is to gather it, check it and explain it clearly, so you can make your own decisions with confidence.

What we cover

  • Healthy living: exercise, sleep, hearing, vision and everyday habits.
  • Eating well: practical nutrition and meals on a budget.
  • Mind and mood: brain health, staying connected and finding purpose.
  • Medicare and Social Security: enrollment, costs, coverage and claiming.
  • Money and benefits: budgeting, taxes, savings and public programs that can help.
  • Home and safety: fall prevention, scam awareness and emergency planning.

How our guides are made

Each guide is researched from primary sources, including Medicare.gov, the Social Security Administration, the Internal Revenue Service, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institute on Aging. We list those sources at the end of every guide so you can check them yourself. When official figures change, such as Medicare premiums or the Social Security cost-of-living adjustment, we update the guide and the date at the top. You can read more in our editorial policy.

What we are not

We are not a government agency, a doctor's office, an insurance company or a financial adviser. We do not sell insurance or financial products, and we do not take payment to write about a product. Our guides are general information. For decisions about your health, money or legal matters, please talk with a qualified professional who knows your situation.

How the site is paid for

Bonivitas is free to read. We pay for it with advertising, which is always labeled "Advertisement" or "Sponsored" and kept separate from our guides. Advertisers have no say in what we write. Read more in our advertising disclosure.
